I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet fam at my Fall Mini Sessions in 2024. Mom was pregnant with baby girl then and wanted to document their family before it was the four of them. She specifically choose a mini because she was worried about their toddler, Wyatt, being cooperative for the session. Little did she know that toddlers are basically my spirit animal. I love the challenge of keeping them engaged and harnessing their energy. Mom said she had such a good experience with me that she ended up booking my ultimate package that includes all the milestones from maternity through babies first year!
Wyatt was SO proud to become a big brother. When I arrived for their in home newborn session he confidently took me on a tour of his house. They had a music room that instantly gave me inspo! I'm pretty sure dad thought I was crazy but I asked if I could utilize his guitar in a few shots. When I put his new little girl on that instrument he looked at me and said "now THAT picture is going to be hanging on my dads wall." What a memory for me! Getting dads on board for family pictures can be tricky sometimes and to hear that this babies grandfather would be excited to have a photo...so rewarding!
Wyatt loved telling me all of the funny noises that his sister has been making including her "baby butt burps!" He was however still nervous to hold her so I pulled out all my tricks to get those sweet brother sister shots including hiding a few Goldfish in her swaddle that he had to "find." It's all about finding little ways to get toddlers comfortable and making the session fun for everyone.
So many photos from this session that I absolutely love!
